2025
- Inspiration: Much of modern school curricula relies on implicit abstractions that hinder students' abilities to fully grasp the underlying "how"s and "why"s of core concepts. This often leads to fundamental knowledge gaps and cascades of assumptions rather than empirically grounded understanding. GenesisXR addresses this by offering a gamified, approachable platform where students can explore, question, and build robust foundations of knowledge about the world around them.
- Built on Apple Vision Pro using the WebSpatial API (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
- Selected as an ambassador for ByteDance and Pico after Stanford's Immerse the Bay Hackathon 2025.
- Currently working to publish GenesisXR in the Apple App Store.
2024-2025
- Inspiration: As an intern for the Innovation & Technology Department, I was charged with repurposing old, leftover robotics materials to design, build, and code the Town of Mooresville's first model garbage pickup robot for public STEM outreach.
- Designed precise intake mechanisms, a rotating tower, robust deposit system, and mecanum drivetrain. Programmed both teleoperation and autonomous movements with OnBot Java.
- Presented at official Town events with the IT Director to excite kids about robotics and its relevance in municipal services.
2021-2025
FUSE Robotics
This was one of the most rewarding teams I've worked with :)
2023-2024
- Inspiration: There is a massive deficit of bathymetric (underwater topographic) data alongside coastal regions, especially along North Carolina's >300-mile wide coast. Bathymetric patterns provide critical indicators of rip currents, coastal flooding, long-term monitoring of man-made coastal structures, and other coastal hazards. Current industry solutions cost thousands of dollars and offer limited spatial coverage. MAST was developed with the goal of creating an open-source, low-cost apparatus to expand bathymetric data coverage for environmental monitoring and to encourage citizen science.
- Assembled the electronic hardware (microcontroller, ultrasonic distance sensor, accelerometer, temperature sensor, data logger, etc.); programmed the firmware (Particle Workbench) to acquire the data and software (Python) to interpret it; and strategically designed the modular, watertight sensor housing using easy-to-find materials like PVC, empty gelato containers, and resin.
- Collected extensive data through numerous field tests at NC beaches.
- Achieved 93% cost reduction compared to commercial sensors while delivering results with 98% accuracy.
- Presented at the State of NC Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium, NC Science and Engineering Fair, UNC Wilmington, and the NCVPS Culture Cafe.
2023-2024
- Inspiration: Each year, millions of data breaches expose vast amounts of personal data. Privacy policies and terms-and-conditions statements often disclose data collection and sharing practices; however, most users skim or skip these lengthy, fine-print documents. To address this gap, PolicyPro summarizes policies to clearly outline what users are agreeing to and highlight potential risks, red flags, or suspicious practices.
- Built using Swift and Apple's iOS development frameworks.
- Winner of NC Representative Alma Adams' Congressional App Challenge (2023).
2022-2023
- Inspiration: As skin cancer rates continue to rise, UV radiation remains the leading cause of over 90% of cases. While often associated with outdoor exposure, clear glass windows can transmit up to 75% of UVA radiation indoors. UV Shield addresses this overlooked risk by tracking and reducing indoor UV exposure, with applications extending beyond the home to medical, industrial, and other high-exposure environments.
- As co-founder, co-designed the product from ideation through prototyping and validation. Developed the business and fundraising strategy, patent application, CAD prototype, and company branding and marketing materials.
- Selected as one of 20 out of 950 teams as a Conrad Challenge Finalist, earning a top-5 score in the Health & Nutrition category, globally.
- Pitched to industry professionals @ the NASA Space Center Houston.
- Participated in Georgia Tech's Female Founders Accelerator as the only high school team in the cohort.
- Currently serve on the Conrad Challenge Alumni Leadership Council, helping run the program for future young entrepreneurs.
2023
- Inspiration: Personal experiences juggling academics, jobs, extracurricular activities, and other responsibilities highlighted the importance of strong time management skills. TimeWise aims to tackle the root causes of poor time management and serves as an HQ for your productivity.
- Built in Android Studio using Java, Google Firebase, and SQLite.
- Pitched at Lenovo's HQ in Raleigh, NC and won 1st Place @ the NCBCE Lenovo Ready, Set, App Mobile App Competition (2023).
